What is Arbor CrossFit?

Arbor CrossFit is a strength and conditioning fitness program designed for all ages and skill levels. Whether your goals are weight loss, gaining muscle or increasing endurance, all is attainable if you commit to CrossFit. The daily workouts include a mixture of cardiovascular and respiratory endurance based exercises. Benefits of increased stamina, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

You attain these goals using a wide variety of exercises, including running, rowing, plyometrics, gymnastics, weight training and Olympic weightlifting techniques. The CrossFit program is sure to challenge you, despite your current athletic abilities.The workouts of the day (a.k.a. WOD’s) consist of personalized group training sessions where Elite Coaches/Certified Professional Trainers guide you and push you every step of the way. You are monitored and motivated throughout every class. You will be mentally inspired to achieve your goals.

I have heard CrossFit is really hard, is this true?

CrossFit is as hard as you make it. We encourage people to push themselves while using proper form and technique and at their own tolerances, but only you can make the most out of your own workouts with the amount of work you put into them.

I am visiting Boise and would love to drop-in. Can I and how much does it cost?

Looking to get your WOD (Workout of the Day) on?

We love welcoming all visitors to Boise and Arbor CrossFit! Whether you’re a member at another Affiliate, been CrossFitting on you’re own. You are more than welcome to drop-in to any of our regularly-scheduled classes.

All Drop -In’s Must:

  • Register for the class you would like to attend in advance
  • You can register for classes up to 2 weeks in advance and as late as 10 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin
  • Pay our $25 drop-in fee
  • If you plan on visiting Boise or dropping in for more than one or two classes, consider purchasing a 10 or 5 class pass. For details click here.
  • We ask that you arrive for your first class at least 5-10 minutes early to introduce yourself to the coach and our Arbor CrossFit family

Can I get a good workout in under an hour?

Yes, this is absolutely what we strongly believe in. More and more research shows that shorter duration/higher intensity workouts yield higher benefits/results. Basically, it just boils down to hard work. But the truth is, the longer the effort the lower our intensity. If you run 10 miles your intensity (power output) will be lower than if you run multiple 400 meter sprints. If you have a shorter workout, you can work harder by nature which can lend to a better response, especially combined with the movements we do. No matter who you are or what workouts you do, without hard work you will not receive results, which is why we encourage you to work to the limits of your physiological and psychological tolerances.

I am afraid I will get too big and bulky?

In order for people to get bigger, especially women, there are two things that you would have to make a concerted effort to do. One: pick up very heavy weight on a frequent basis. This is not something we do. Yes, we are very much concerned about your strength and we do lift heavy some days. But this is not our main focus. Two: eat an extremely high calorie diet. For most to gain productive muscle mass takes quite the effort in eating the right foods in a high amount. This is also something that we do not focus on.

Do I have to get in shape before I start?

Getting in shape for CrossFit is a common misconception. The most elite athlete can come into the gym and find a workout challenging. You will never be “fit” enough. That’s why we are here and offer workout options for each individual so that you can thrive in each workout on a personal level. Fitness is a lifelong journey, we are never really “there”.
